The PRP ABA Mission

To unite local businesses to address issues common to the Pleasure Ridge Park Area in an effort to make our community a better place to live, work, and do business.

Our History

On behalf of the membership and board of directors it is my pleasure to welcome you to the Pleasure Ridge Park Area Business Association! Since the late 1800’s Pleasure Ridge Park has been known as a destination for “city dwellers” to come and spend an afternoon of pleasure. The “park like” setting in and around “Muldraugh Ridge” gave our area the name we speak so proudly today… Pleasure Ridge Park!

From the family owned farm stands to the dance halls of the 30’s and 40’s, from grandma’s turtle soup to fish sandwiches at Mike Linnig’s, from our Pleasure Ridge Park High School baseball and basketball champs to our Valley Sports Little League World Series Champions, from Rockford lane, Johnsontown and St. Andrews Church Roads… to the Cane Run fields on the Ohio, from my business to yours… WE ARE PLEASURE RIDGE PARK!

Our purpose is to unite the businesses in our community and to address the issues common to the area. Our united efforts will ultimately make our community a better place to live, work and do business.

If you are not a member we implore you to join one of the fastest growing business associations in the Louisville area! If you are a member, let me encourage you to get involved! The pride you show in our community will have a positive reflection on your business and its vitality.

You can become a member today simply by visiting PRPABA.ORG and filling out a new member application or you may join at one of our monthly meetings, typically held on the second Thursday of each month. Once you have joined we encourage you to use your membership wisely by attending our meetings and getting involved on one of our exciting committees.

We also recommend that you take full advantage of our annual business expos. The Dixie Business Fair takes place in the spring and Discover Dixie in the fall. There is real power in networking with other businesses and area residences.

The future of the Pleasure Ridge Park Area Business Association is bright, and it just got a little brighter because of you! We thank you for your interest and look forward to learning more about your business.

Kindest Regards, Robert Price, President

Your Board of Directors

Kim Leanhart - Vice President

I started working in 1983, part time, for my parent’s business until I could find a job in nursing that didn’t require working double shifts and every weekend. I had two small children at the time that needed more time with me and less time in daycare. I’ve been at Leanhart Plumbing now for 24 years and have worked every position. I can even say I unstopped a sewer in the snow of 1994. I’m a lifelong resident of the PRP Area and became actively involved in 2000. My community is important to me as well as my business. I currently sit on several boards throughout the Metro Louisville Area and work hard at making a difference in our community. I have been a member of the PRPABA since 2000 and currently the Vice President.

Kim Kramer - Web site

I began my career in Real Estate in 2003, when I decided to go back to college and get my degree. In December, 2005, I graduated from the University of West Georgia with a Bachelor of Business Administration, and a major in real estate. At almost the same time, my family and I moved back to our “home town”, Louisville, Kentucky. Once settled in our home community of PRP, I began working with a small company in the real estate field for about 9 months then joined the Semonin Realtors team. I have been privileged to work in both the residential and commercial areas of real estate. I enjoy working with people and have tremendous pride in our community. In April, 2007, I began the process of getting my CCIM designation. I am committed to working with the members of the community to bring more goods and services to this area as requested by the community residents. I joined the PRP Area Business Association in 2006 and currently serve on the Board as the coordinator of the PRPABA web site.

Jim Pullen - Events Coordinator

My name is Jim Pullen. About 10 years ago I was having some health problems. The doctor said, “Put down the remote, get off the couch, and find something to do for relaxation.’’

I had always been interested in photography, so I bought a camera, took a couple of adult education photography classes, and started shooting. I found that I had an ‘eye’ for photography. My wife and I enjoy traveling and being out-of-doors so I started shooting flowers and landscapes as we traveled. I also tried my eye at shooting some of the landmarks around the Louisville area. It gave me great pleasure to have one of my photographs from Jamestown, NY published in Cindi Sullivan’s Garden Talk Calendar for 2000. I had some of my best photos enlarged and framed to give as gifts as well as to hang in my own home.

I was surprised at the cost of picture framing. My wife suggested that I take a framing class and learn to do it myself. I found out that I enjoyed framing as much as I did photography. I bought some equipment and started doing framing for friends and family. As word of my framing expertise spread, I started receiving framing requests from other people who had seen my work. I decided that there was a market for quality custom framing in my area and I knew that I could make framing more affordable.

I enjoy the creativity of designing the framing project and seeing the smiles from my customers when they see the finished product. I would like to be your local framer. I promise to give you a quality framing job at the lowest possible price.
